Other Fibers

Other fibers have been used successfully for many years. Fibers such as cellulose or hemp serve mainly as fillers, synthetics can provide crack or shrinkage control and steel can enhance strength. Some fibers may leave a fuzzy surface appearance and some can degrade from product alkalinity or exposure to temperatures above 212°F
(100°C). They can also be quite expensive.
